Next Event in NYC!

The party never ends! Last month I had so much fun at the SFX Party held at R Bar and now this month - I'm showing off my designs!

I'll be updating on Facebook and Twiiter with what time my gorgeous models will be rockin' Sibyl Vain - I'd said make sure you're there by 11pm! I'll be bringing along pieces used last week for a filming of Cake Boss with the Sugar & Spikes ladies plus a couple new things.

Come and party with us!

Cynical Fashion Magazine Issue #1

I've worked quite a bit with mua Brittany Diaz and her main photographer, Madness Photography. They have been turning out images like crazy and doing big things, so it's only natural a magazine would follow.

Cynical Fashion Magazine will be released April 1st and I was so flattered to be asked to provide wardrobe for their first cover and for an editorial. Even more stoked that the featured model would be Allison Goldfire. Whoa.

Make sure you check it out and for more updates, add the Sibyl Vain Facebook

March Music

It's been a long time since I was excited over new music. Even when Blaqk Audio's 'Bright Black Heaven' came out, I didn't buy it and still haven't listened to it.

But I'm back and ready to plunge headfirst into the land of new music. The other week I went to the Whitechapel/Emmure NYC show and wanted to cry over how it feels as though I abandoned my first love and the one big high in my life. I haven't been writing for the one music publication or been in a photo pit in forever. Breaks my heart. I got caught up living a life that took all my ambition and energy away from work. My mind is clear and I know now I can manage the clothing line, random costuming gigs and music journalism.

So with that little motivational rant out of the way...

March I am DYING for new IAMX and Senses Fail. Both groups have tour dates for April and May and I'm about to buy tickets (or maybe get listed which would be awesome). Not sure if IAMX has any previews available, but I'm really scared with the first single "Mi Amor" from Senses Fail. It opens hard and hope the rest of the album is in that direction, but the chrous/hook is odd from them. Sounds like all the 'silly metalcore/post-hardcore AP Mag bands of the moment.' I've heard people comment they don't like how it's over-produced, I just feel it's trying to appeal to younger fans and therefore, making it not Senses Fail.

Well, we'll just have to wait for the end of March to hear things.

Inspirational Update

I'll explain the above image in a minute. So here's a little update in the magical land of Sibyl Vain Clothing and also a little bit about my life too. This will either be boring or random and funny.

Been asked to do a million shoots and one big project. Currently working on a million things that I can't really show online...maybe teaser shots.

Waiting for my laundry to be done right now - it's 11:30pm

There may be a monthly event in March or April that involves different artists and music and I might be showing a few designs at. So rad!

Dying to get back to weekly dinners with my best friend, who has been a slave at work. Yet, my poverty at the moment says I needed a pause to save up to splurge at new restaurants.

When does Spring happen? I want to do outside shoots!

I also do take care of wardrobe on film sets and for theater productions. Was on hand at a short film shoot at Cafe Lalo and it was SO cool! Really trying to get out there and find more gigs.

Looking into selling at two big events this year. Sent in an application and have to wait till March for confirmation. I have high hopes, but last year didn't get accepted, so we'll see. The other I'm just waiting for them to announce when the next event will be this Spring. But of course, me and my sister agreed to do the Spring edition of the Philly Punk Rock Flea Market.

Conflicted in life...right now, debating buying Manson tshirts on eBay. Think I'm going to do it.

Truthfully though, there's something in my life I'm conflicted over and it drives me nuts. I know what I should do, but I know what I want to do and they don't match. If I was a 'normal' person (no seriously, there's something I want to write a book about and have it turn it into a movie because people wouldn't believe me, but I'm not about to reveal it to any non-super close people), I wouldn't be debating this.

But I look at it as: Out of misery, comes great beauty.

While it sucks to be miserable and confused, I'm using it to fuel my designs and most importantly, my drive to work.

I have my next 'collection' concept all planned out, but will keep quiet about it until we're close to shooting things. Below and the image above are some inspiration I've been looking at. I'm going nuts because I have these intense images of how I want the shoot set up and I just want to bring them to life like yesterday.

Tiffany Ann Wonderment

Having been able to work with Tiffany Ann is just tops in my book. I've sent over quite a few things to her and stellar images always emerge.

Just wanted to put together a post from the last batch of images she had sent over to me and actually...it's been quite some time, haha. You've probably seen these on Facebook or Tumblr, but here's a few I don't remember posting and that are just too gorgeous.

Riot Vixen Magazine...Again!

Jinxi Jey (right side) wearing a Sibyl Vain bow bikini in the current issue of Riot Vixen Magazine! Photo was done by Madness Photography and hair/mua by Brittany Diaz (see previous post for even more images of that shoot).

And guess who's on the issue's cover? Miss Mischief! So fabulous, not to mention that she is also wearing a Sibyl Vain studded bust leotard in the last issue of Riot Vixen Magazine. Whoa.

Tattoo Glamour

Here's a couple images from a shoot I provided some wardrobe on. Orchestrated by make-up extraordinaire, Brittany Diaz and photographer Madness Photography, the shoot was going to be on the glam side of things.

The make up was to die for and Chazy of Madness Photography captured the models beautifully. The girls were Jinxi Jey, Karma Kitty Mariko and Tina HeartThrob and oh yes...there was a male model on hand - J Michael Kent - but you have to go to Madness's site to see how he fell into the story.

Pretty and badass? Quite so.

New Year - Riot Vixen Magazine & MIss Mischief

Happy New Year! So many incredible things to kick off things and let's start with spotting a Sibyl Vain leotard on Miss Mischief as shot by Kev Cool in the new issue of Riot Vixen Magazine.

I've shown off these photos a bit ago, but love that they also made the issue, because they're awesome as hell!

Latte Diaries #2

December is almost over and the holidays are upon us! I'm excited to go home and while 'home' is a half hour away, I haven't been in about two weeks and it's nice to have other people in the house.

November sucked and just when I thought Decemeber was going to turn around...life decided to mess with me. Was totally screwed over on something and that only made everything else in my life that much more frustrating. And just when I thought things couldn't be worse - stomach bug hit.

But as is my life - when really bad things hit, really good always follows to help ease the pain. Was asked to lend out clothing for two insane shoots, both for submissions and hopefully you'll be able to see my designs in print modeled by amazing models and the one photographer is a pretty big deal - don't know if I can say much.

Hopefully within the week I'll be making an event announcement! It sounds like it'll be a sick time and I'll have new designs...animal prints...battling drag queens...I'm stoked.

It's funny how I was out and super busy everyday last week that last night, when faced with nothing to do, I was going nuts! You would think I would be tired and happy to do nothing and chill, but I can never sit still. Back to work today and time to get a project settled - b/c there's a million things to do and like no time. Story of my life.

Holiday Latte Diaries - 2012

Last year I did this 'Chegg Diaries' and it worked out pretty well in keeping me updating this blog. What's 'Chegg' you ask? It's the marking for an eggnog chai latte at Starbucks, which I was seriously drinking like three a week, then take a picture of the cup and talk about all that's been going on.

While they're looking to have eggnog hopefully within the next two weeks, I got a Creme Brulee latte last night before class. So let's reflect on the past, well two months.

The biggest change is moving to a new apartment and now having a workspace where I can have clothing everywhere and no one to tell me I'm making a mess. So yay!

Did an amazing photoshoot with Jon Russell Green Photography, models Bonnie BlackLite and Heather Ann, and with Brittany Diaz making everyone gorgeous! Plus new images from Miss Mischief rocking Sibyl Vain - she is FLAWLESS!

Will make blog posts of those images. So look out for that. I'm also working on two projects this month. One is an off-Broadway play and I'm doing costume design. The other, I have to keep those designs under lock and key for now.

One thing I can say...DECEMBER 9th!!! 10am - 5pm down in Philadelphia, I'll be at the Holiday Edition of the Philly Punk Rock Flea Market. Me and my sister will both be selling handmade awesomeness. Hope to see you there!

Sugar & Spikes Drop Dead Gorgeous Fashion Show

Did you join us for this event? You missed one hell of a night if you weren't out.

I can't believe this happened a month ago. It was a great event as always by the Sugar & Spikes ladies and I had the best models rock a lot of new designs.

Here's a clip of the night, showing off all that went down. From burlesque, magic and two other amazing designers. Can you spot me?

And for some of my favorite images of the night (photo cred: Karina Antigua - Ely Kay). For more info, photos or just want to find out more on the clothing and gorgeous ladies, check out my Fanpage.

New Etsy

Listing new items in my Etsy store tonight, March 5th.

Trying to get all old stock up in the online store and yes, I FINALLY will have t-shirts I had made for the past two collections up in the store next week.

Oh, and cross your fingers this week for me! I got denied for vending at this one event, but hoping for confirmation for another, which they're supposed to make this week.

Futuristic Barbarella

How insane are these images?

It has been a long time in the making for me and Elli Fox to finally work together and I couldn't have asked for a better opportunity! She asked for futuristic pieces and immediately I thought bodysuits. I mean, you say future and I think like Star Trek and the weird uniforms they wore. I had some really cool material already on hand and I also bought some really cool hologram material I hadn't worked with before to create pieces for Elli Fox to choose from. Then to my surprised, she shot them all!

Just Gorgeous!

I don't need any big intro for these images. They speak for themselves and are stunning!

The gorgeous AiTenshiMisha asked to borrow a couple pieces and I was happy to oblige. Turned out too she was shooting with Alicia C. Photgraphy! Alicia C. was one of the first photographers I worked with back when I started and I've watched how incredible her career has become over the past couple years. Plus AiTenshiMisha is one of her main models, so it was great to finally work with her.

Hearts and Kisses Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! I'm usually not one for this holiday, but I can't help but be drawn in by all the pinks, reds, fluffy kittens, hearts and girlie girl fuzzy feelings filling my heart (basically I got a lot of candy and my hair is finally fading into a beautiful pink).

Here's a couple images fitting for today and capture the mood and direction I'm being drawn to in my designs. I'm also working on a concept for my collections, but I need to fully flesh it out before making any type of announcement. In short, it's my two personalities that want to wear the same thing, but in drastically different ways. This spring, I'll have two girls to introduce to you.

I had cupcakes last night from Babycakes in NYC, found tons of candy on my kitchen table from my mom for me, hung out with adorable cats last night and of course our little fluffy monster of doom and later I'll be doing an interview, which I'm considering my Valentine's Day date. haha! I've never had a date on Valentine's Day, so I'm considering a 20 minute phone interview a good enough date.

Don't forget! One of my dresses is on the cover of the Sweethearts Issue of Bella Morte Magazine!

My FIRST Cover!

I was SO excited when I got to see this! I had been asked a bit ago to loan out a stellar dress for model Leah Jung. It was a couple months of waiting - I didn't even get to see any images beforehand!

The Sweethearts Edition of Bella Morte Magazine went on sale this week and I was dancing around at work when I finally got to see the final image. There is also a beautiful feature on Leah Jung in the issue and she models the hell out of the dress! So stoked!

Here's another image from the issue - make sure you check it out and grab your copy today!
