Gaultier's Winehouse Couture

I just flipped out over Gaultier's Spring 2012 Couture show. It was beautiful, magical and clearly was honoring someone who Gaultier loved.

It's Winehouse Couture - the non-grungy/dirty version of how she dressed. And then at the end, he resends the models out with first dark veils and then white and pastel veils. It was a beautiful reflection on her style, then mournful and now angelic.

This collection is just stunning. It feeds the need of the 1950's badgirl, diva and 1980's party girl a la Madonna. Just love.

The first look clearly sets the tone for what the collection is about. The second and third image just show the re-interpretation of a blazer and then it seems like the biker jacket is a cape. And who doesn't love an 80's party dress?

Anyone else a little 'meh' on Van Halen's return?

I know they've grown, matured and will never be exactly what they were back in the day, but I expected something more.

Good song no doubt, but as a first single to mark their return? Eh....

And yes, I wasn't expecting Diamond Dave to be running around the stage in spandex, but I had hoped for a more upbeat, faster tempo. And stupid me didn't keep tabs on their tour and I highly doubt I'll be seeing them live anytime soon. BUMMED OUT!

Wait. What Day Is It?

Things have been SUPER busy! Which is wonderful on one hand, but annoying on the other. I feel I rather be just 'go go go, deadline deadline deadline, sew sew sew!' than waiting around, searching for new projects and having breathing room to make things and not be rushed. I work better with deadlines than setting my own.

This past week, well no, hell! Since December started, there's been so much going on! I'm back in the swing of photoshoots, trying to update the online store more, going after new vending events, writing a bunch more and well, trying to also have a social life, haha.

There was a family party over the weekend, which was lovely. I come from a very small family, so we've 'adopted' close family friends and sometimes that's all you need in life. Then this week, things took off. I had to focus and make a few things for shoots, schedule drop offs, two interviews, my normal work day, there's a private screening tonight I'm attending, volunteering tomorrow, D.R.U.G.S. hopefully on Saturday and then off on Sunday to Philadelphia for a photoshoot with ladies from Reflections 2011.

Yesterday I got to work and honestly told my manager I felt weird coming in because I didn't believe it was Wednesday. If you didn't know me, you would think I was on something - which is furthest from the truth. I'm now finally religiously using my phone's calendar - which leaves me in a time and space limbo, never knowing where or when it is and just waking up, looking at my phone and letting it tell me where I need to be that day.

Part of me still hates technology and prefer writing things down. But carrying around a paper calendar/date book is annoying. I found this website that shows off Snoopy collectibles and I wish they had journals and diaries for sale, but I didn't see any. Natalia Fabia Solo Show

I was an Art History major in school. I loved it. I however did not know where to go for a job in that world and because girlfriend of Eugene Delacroix couldn't happen, I decided to do the fashion thing. Being part of the alternative scene, I've seen just about every type of scene queen/alt model photo that's out there.

What first caught my eye of artist Natalia Fabia were the elements of the scenesters in her paintings and basically, I thought they were photographs. Her work is realistic, yet impressionistic and comments on our generation.

Her first solo show, Punk Rock Rainbow Sparkle, is opening tomorrow at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery in NYC and hopefully I'll be able to get in during the opening reception. I'm so excited to be able to see her work in person. I feel the colors will just vibrate off the canvas and be even more beautiful than just viewing her work online and in magazines.

Cupcakes EVERYWHERE!

CUPCAKES! Who doesn't love cupcakes? I hadn't made them in awhile and still haven't, so it's not like there were cupcakes scattered all about the house. But it was kind of funny how I overdosed on cupcakes yesterday.

I was in NYC Tuesday and just had to stop after dinner at Baby Cakes Bakery and I bought two cupcakes and brownies. I was a madwoman! I hadn't been to Baby Cakes in like 2 1/2 years - I kid you not. They are the best cupcakes in the City, vegan or not. And do I even have to mention that their icing is amazing? They have shots of the icing for sale at the bakery.

I ate the vanialla cupcake the next day at work and was upset because it wasn't hat perfect light, fluffy cupcake I'm use to when you eat right after buying, haha. But still super yummy. I get home and you know what's on the table...

Yep, cupcakes from Crumbs Bakery. Obviously not those above, but weird flavors I hadn't tried before. I took a bit of the one that I thought was cookie dough, but was this weird, I guess it was biscotti. Who knows. Wasn't too fun. Then today I had the other Baby Cakes cupcake I bought - red velvet. I'm going to NYC tomorrow and I think I might have to make another Baby Cakes visit...I'm obsessed!

NYC Day - Thrifty and Iron Maiden

Yesterday was a good NYC trip. I got to pick up clothing from the lovely Mika of Sugar & Spikes. It was cool too because where we met was right by the ABC Studios and I got to see the news crew setting up.

Then I made my way to Brooklyn to kill time by shopping. I begun at the Hipster Mecca - Beacon's Closet. I started there because you have to check your other shopping bags and figured I would be buying stuff at other stores. Thank God it wasn't crowded and I twirled around all the racks and saw a few Betsey Johnson dresses.

Being I was 20 pounds too big for any of the dresses, I opted for a grungey Iron Maiden shirt that I hope to revamp. Then at the register there was a ton of Betsey Johnson jewelry. I just wanted the braclet, but the sales girl didn't want to separate it from the matching necklace. I'm such a sucker. But the more I look at it, I feel like its a bootleg! Haha. Still really pretty though.

I hit up Buffalo Exchange, which is the best, but I was out of luck for any cool finds. I also had a coughing fit and had to run out before I finished looking through all the t-shirts. That also meant I had to skip roaming through Junk (yes that's the name of the store) right below Buffalo and seeing what's up with this Monk Vintage right above.

Had an awesome dinner at Inoteca in the LES, managed not to break down in a puddle of tears and a broken heart finding out about a certain engagement and then chatting with my other friend about Japan, dreams and research papers.

Another Language - NYC Parking Signs

This is the death of me - how to read above sign. There are so many of these around the city! I was going to park in them the other day when my sister was fabric shopping and I got stuck driving around until she was done. I was going to parking in one today, but THANK GOD I did some research online - BECAUSE I CAN'T!

Turns out when I thought you could park during the mentioned time for standing by commercial vehicles, you can't. I thought you just have to Muni Meter pay, but that's for the commercial vehicles. I need to do a pick up today and wanted my car right there to put the stuff away, but now - nope. I can't put it in a garage b/c they don't let you come back to drop things off. So looks like I have to park legally at a muni-meter in Union Square then subway it up to Midtown and then back to Downtown. Erf.

That's it for rambling! So Downtown, Subway, Midtown, Subway, Car, Brooklyn for shopping, LES then FOOD!

2012 Kick Off

Had the first photoshoot of 2012 with the photographer who I did my first ever photoshoot with - Creepshow Photography.

We had Jezzter and Sarah Strange Wings playing the parts of stunning models, Miranda Zip doing make-up and I even had my assistant Miss Connie on set to help! It was quite a fun time and on top of that...we were celebrating Creepshow's Birthday!

It was such a fun time and I always love how Julie Creepshow directs models. Plus Sarah and Jezzter blew me away with their posing (I was in love with the first look we did) and Miranda surprised me with glitter lips and dramatic eyes.

We did the first (shown above) at this abandon building we randomly found. We decided it must have been a school. But I started getting freaked out and stood by every opened window in case a ghost or vagabond appeared and I had to make a fast escape - I felt bad, but I was only concerned about my escape and not the others, haha. It was pretty creepy and we even found an animal skull.

We went back to home base and dressed the girls up like hipster party girls - night and day and you're going to love it!

Lastly after a pizza party, little black dresses were worn and Jezzter was a 50-foot bendable woman and Sarah became a guitar goddess.

I can't wait to get back more images and show them off. There'll be lots more updating too. The holidays killed me and then I was under attack by a mild cold that for some reason sucked the life out of me.

Cheg Diaries - Cup #something

I'm sitting here trying to finish up a show review and I'm drinking a homemade eggnog chai. Haven't had one in awhile. Switched to those caramel brulee lattes.

I haven't been updating like I had hoped. December turned into the month from crazy hell! From preparing for the Philly Punk Rock Flea Market to interviewing the bassist of one of my favorite bands to getting an early Christmas present of a photo pass for another band I die for...And now we're ending the month and year with deadmau5 performing on New Year's Eve.

The Punk Rock Flea Market was an interesting time. Once we got setup and rolling, the time went by fast, which was surprising. But was a learning experience and now all I can say is look out for other events I'll be vending at. I do everything backwards, so we're talking big events.

I had hoped a lot more images were going to be coming my way, but waiting on submissions and edits...it's an annoying process sometimes! But I'm stoked to be doing my first shoot of the year next week with Creepshow Photography! She is also the first photographer I've ever shot with too! Annnddd....I have a video to show off from Keep Me From Dreaming directed by Jesse Fox and you can find my clothing scattered about. YAY!

The Cheg Diaries - Cup #8

This one was from before heading over to the studio of Sumie Tachibana for a holiday trunk show. There was racks and tables of her designs and I was so upset because I adore her work, but am broke. There was also jewelry sellers, vintage glove dealer and an old student of Sumie's, was selling soap she and her mother make. I got the Lavendar scent and am excited to use it! There's also soap making classes and other sewing classes at the studio. I found info at Here

It was such a nice day seeing those lovely ladies and then went to this great restaurant - BANY - yum! Sushi. And as if I needed any more caffeine (again I would regret this later), went to this punk rock ultra-hipster coffee shop Sweet Leaf. The barista even made a leaf in the latte's foam. So cute!

Than was able to hit up Buffalo Exchange and Beacon's Closet, though I didn't buy anything. No band shirts for me. But my friend bought records at Sound Fix across the way. That place reminds me so much of Skífan in Iceland.

Oh! And at Beacon's Closet, they were like doing a documentary of the place and interviewing people outside. The hipsters scared me. And it seemed yesterday was the day for everyone to be selling at these two thrift stores and the hopeful sellers scared me even more. haha

Cheg Diaries - Cup #7

Ok, so it's the bag my cranberry bliss bar came in, but I accidentally threw out my cup.

I had been helping out at a nearby theater for two days and I got an eggnog chai to keep me going. Turned out, the barista put a shot of espresso in it. They sometimes do by accident and it wasn't bad, but I was kind of upset. Plus I think the extra caffeine caused me to crash real bad later that night and then feel sick. I was supossed to go out, but instead passed out at home.

It's been fun seeing the behind the scenes inner workings of what goes on for a theater performance. They're doing A Christmas Carol, so the costumes are awesome. The women's skirts and corset tops are heavey as all hell. I want to play dress up, but alas, I would probably be too big even if I could.

Cheg Diaries - Cup #6

Thanksgiving weekend was a complete rollercoaster! Thanksgiving itself was really nice with family and great food. But the other days...bummer mood.

I ran out of chai at home, so I had to stop and pick up a cup today, I was dying of sleepiness. Also confirmed tshirt designs and will post images when they are done. I'm really feeling the second batch being made.

Waiting is so hard! There are so many photos, magazines and even a video to come.

December is almost here and there are so many concerts I'm going to. Plus, New Year's Eve is going to be bananas!

My Sneakers

My sneakers were resurrected last night. From the depths of my sneaker bin with a pile of others that are slowly fading, they emerged to be reborn with the light and weight of metal pyramid studs.

They are at this time, six years old. Bought in 2005, my first pair of Converses and worn to my first time to Warped Tour. At that tour, I saw Offspring for the first and only time, argued with the singer from Boys Night Out because I'm a crazy fan, witnessed the end of My Chemical Romance ever being an underground band. I wore these shoes for my first photo pit experience. Senses Fail and 30 Seconds to Mars - I died. The amount of venues these shoes have walked over is too long to list.

They stayed with me through almost all of my days working at a coffee place. With mocha powder, milk, soy, coffee and matcha powder covering them regularly.

The bleach stains came from the day I helped out one of my inspirations and mentor at the time bleach jackets in her backyard.

I left mud caked on the soles until it flaked off thinking it had magic powers as it was from outside the venue of which I just saw AFI perform.

They're just sneakers and probably really gross, but when I look at them, I relieve 6 years of my life in one glance.

Cheg Diaries - Cup #5

WOW! I've been a slacker. I haven't been buying coffee like I thought I would be. Blame it on building me line and never having money for $5 chais. Doesn't matter...I have a secret weapon for getting my fix. It's called make your own!

This is a homemade eggnog chai in a groovy zebra tumbler (which my lovely friend and assistant Connie got me for my birthday)

There's been so much going on and I have to wait to get back images and and there seems that in February you will have to look out for my design on the cover of an alternative Indie magazine.

I'm also getting things ready for an Etsy shop update. All this week I'll be posting stuff at holiday sale prices. Then on December 11th, I'll be selling at the Philly Punk Rock Flea Market. It's the first time I'll be a vendor, so come say hi!

Been hanging with awesome friends old & new, listening to great music, been back in the swing of interviewing bands and sewing my life away. Does anyone else get bummed out during the holiday seasons? I always find myself reflecting on the past, present and future and it can put me in such a bad state of mind. Beauty comes from misery and we know this because it's always better tomorrow.

Her modeling seems so simple and effortless in capturing fierce images. I swear, this girl cannot take a bad photo. She also styles the majority of her shoots - perfection all around.

Cheg Diaries - Cup #4

Bought this one November 8th and shocking...it's a small.

Wasn't feeling having a massive surge of caffeine.

Had gotten lunch and a shopping fix with my one good friend before heading back home to finish a dress for an event. Later when I got home after dropping off that dress, I had a photographer email me asking for it, but with a similar option in the works...I pulled an all-nighter and sent it out the next day for a pretty big shoot. Can't wait to see it and hope it came out well.

Last minute before closing drink. My friend and I hit up the Starbucks and the barista was stoked on my drink. She had just tried it the other day and was in love. The cup isn't marked b/c they were closing, so ejoy the lovely holiday-ness.

Spent the weekend working on a dress for the host of this event coming up. All day Sunday sewing and studding and what happened? Turned out it was really ill-fitting. Scrapped it and worked all day yesterday to have it done for drop off tonight. But it came out SO amazing...check it on the Facebook Fanpage

Oh and I've totally overdosed on King of the Hill episodes.

Second cup of Eggnog Chai of the season!

I was kinda losing energy when I walked in and the young lad behind the counter got my 'I have a difficult drink disclaimer.' He kept smiling at me - or laughing at how weird my order sounded.

There was a cute scene guy talking at the drink pick up counter to the pretty young baristas making the drinks. They were all friends and in college. Wish I was back in college.

I listened to old school My Chemical Romance and Senses Fail driving today. It made me want to drunk text later that night this one guy who I still want to know why he never official asked me out. Fool. I really liked him.

City trip was in store and my friend and I split a bottle of wine. We got crepes after a delicious dinner.

Going to NYC again tomorrow, but not before celebrating my neice's birthday!

I walked into Starbucks wanting a pumpkin spice latte and I look up at the board and see...the Holiday Drinks are here!

Eggnog Chai it was!

I commented I had a difficult drink, but now that I have it under control, it was easy to recite. The lady at the register had no problem. Then the barista at the bar looks over and was like 'So you're who orders this,' as if I am the only one who does. She had been wondering exactly what the 'Cheg' button on the register was for. I was happy to clear that up.

Bought November 3, 2011 and it was yummy.

I also finalized t-shirt designs with my photographer and printer. We are also working on new designs to sell in December (event to be confirmed)

My one friend/co-worker turned me on to drinking eggnog chais - it's like a spice cookie. But having worked for this company for over 2 years, I had become very particular about how it was to be made. (btw, I was fired for my pink hair when new management stepped in. Bastards)

So I forsee ordering many of these to come and decided to do a 'Cheg Diary.' So whenever I buy one, I'll photo it and write a little about ordering it and thoughts of the day.

Sneaker Collector

So, beginning of this summer my back decides to betray and I am basically unable to walk or go about my normal day. Things are so much better and it's sad to hear other stories from friends and my doctor how back problems are so common and there's a lot of people like me out there.

So for the summer, I am basically sworn to a life of wearing no heels. This may have to be broken for birthday festivities, but that's still up for debate.

This leaves me few options because I also have to be able to put an insole in my shoes and most flats I either step out of with it in or you can't get away wearing those strapy or open toe flats with an insole in the shoe.

I do live in my Converses, but when I'm told I can only wear one type of shoe, I start to realize how I really do live in my Cons and want to shake things up.

When they first hit stores, I picked up the sneaker creepers from the Jesse Jo line for Vans. I got the all black, but do wish I got the white & black ones.

Now, I caught wind of the next Vans collab collection for the fall. Do I really have to wait like three months for these?! Hellz Bellz' second collab with Vans are producing this glorious sneaker creepers and I must have them.

I'm starting to think I'm developing a sneaker fetish. Any other different/cute sneakers out there I should pick up?

I'll have t-shirts (which haven't been shown to the world yet), new samples I've been working on and sale items! I wish I could be bringing more, but due to the recent problems I've had with my spine...as a designer whose clothing is currently all handmade, I was unable to sew for the past month.

But that doesn't mean we're not going to have a good time at this event.

Pricing was $30 last time I checked and is for the whole weekend and includes free camping for the weekend.

So...Where was Johnny Depp?

Over the weekend, I was on hand for photoshoot featuring designs from my latest collection!

We shot around the town of Sleepy Hollow and it was so cool checking out (via the car window) the little town, orange & black street signs and the biggest cemetery I've ever seen.

Below are just three shots I took on my phone from the day. You can kind of see the outfits, but definitely can get a feel for where we were all at. We started out at this abandoned school. I wouldn't say it was really old, but totally got this vibe of 'Silent Hill' and thought that twisted janitor from the bathroom was going to come crawling out from the shadows and kill us.

We survived though!
Photographer was Brent Lee of Phun Photo, model was the lovely Alex and pulling out make up and hair magic was Adriana.

First look and location was in the greenhouse part of this school. Glass was EVERYWHERE! As well as those little red spiders/ants were everywhere.

Then we moved into the school...the first look was up in the attic of the place in this area that I don't even know what it was, but there were wheels, open roof and the model stood on a grate looking down to a really long drop. There was these like 'pens' all about...I said that's where they kept the students who needed to be reprimanded.

They also shot in the stairwell, but I was too busy laying down because my back started killing me! But we then got Applebees and recharged on the drive to the final location.

We got to this old building on the water and had a weird 'non-gay guido meeting' across the way from us. They were also trying to sneak a peek at our gorgeous model who was getting the ultimate drag-vamp make up job.

We shot three looks and this is the first. Won't tell you how they all got down to the little stream there, but doesn't she look like a glam metal version of Ariel after she became human?

So What Happened?

I had planned on doing regular blogging, I had planned on making new items every week, I had planned on going out to different events...I had planned on A LOT of stuff.

But thus is the story of my life and yes, I'm complaining a bit and it's nothing super life-threatening severe, but you would be in the same situation I'm in if it happened to you.

There was A HUGE shake-up at my day job early this month. It went as far as me realizing I might not have that job any longer.

The stress from things finally all hit me at once and Monday last week, on my way to work, realized I couldn't walk upright all that easy. I know I'm not the only one with back problems, but when your back and back muscles are so out of alignment and you can't walk straight, can't get comfortable and can only shuffle around like Yetta from The Nanny, you think you're the only one.

I haven't been able to sew or do much of anything else (there went my Memorial Day weekend plans), so things have been on hold.

I'm still planning things and will update, but felt like marking this point in my life with a silly blog entry. And thanks to the holiday weekend, I have to wait till Tuesday to see a chiropractor...UGH!

Being today is Wednesday...let's talk what is inspiring my next collection.

I'm working on a collection for the Reflections Project in Spetember and have so many things I'm pulling inspiration from - they will follow in the next weeks. The title of the collection won't be said until we get closer to the date, but see if you can find the theme.

First clue - Lady Gaga's "Judas" video

So, I wasn't really into this song and still it's 'meh' for me, but I LOVE this video. I'm a sucker for anything 'religious imagery' related. Is it offensive? No. And for those who find offense...it's taking the story of Jesus and making fan fiction of it.

It's beautiful and the clothing is AMAZING! What I'm taking from it - embellishments, crosses, ripped clothing, biker chick chic and the fringed sleeves weird straight jacket/leotard blue number with the Bleeding Heart on it.

Fool's Gold Event & Fashion Show

Photos and extras are taking forever to come in from the recent event I did. So far I only have two professional shots in and I've posted them below.

I'm really excited for the festival we got over here in New Jersey - The Bamboozle. There's so many good bands this year. Last year was absolutely horrid and just a horrible time. So this year if some bitch decides to cut the 30minute line for water and throw an attitude, the fact I get to see Jared Leto, Senses Fail and Motley Crue in one weekend will make up for it.

I'm excited too because I wrote three articles for the magazine I write for that'll be on the festival grounds. Hopefully they'll all be used and I'm praying a photopass will get approved too.

Got plenty of shoots going on. Working with a lot of familiar faces and a bunch of new ones. I get like new photos in every week and they are so killer. I want to get a few more together from people and then I'll start posting them here.

Taking Back Sunday Returns!

Well, it's not like they went anywhere, but I hadn't seen them in awhile and now they're back with the orginal line up.

They did a one-off show at Maxwells in Hoboken, NJ, the other night and I was lucky enough to get tickets. That place holds like 200 people in the stage area and what was also interesting about this show was that they were filming for their upcoming video for the new song, "El Paso."

I was, unfortunately thanks to traffic, about 20 minutes late and walked in on "Liar (It Takes One to Know One)." I'm assuming I missed out on "Cute Without the 'e' (Cut from the Team)" and that sucks hardcore, but oh well.

They played three new songs, one of which was "El Paso," but like three times...maybe it was four...I don't remember, but while some of the audience stepped out for a drink during the repeated playing, I enjoyed every second. If the upcoming album can be summed up in those three songs heard, I'm prepared for yet another strong release from TBS.

I don't remember too many songs from New Again, but it was such a good mix of the hits from the other three albums. They even threw in that Existentialism song by Straylight Run. Yea.

I became a TBS fan when the second album hit, so I'm not familiar with this line-up and was there mainly to stare at Adam. It's interesting because they are the kind of band that talks to the audience and especially Adam is so charming. There were old school fans and friends from back in the day, so the conversation carried throughout the venue.

And that's what was so great about this show - you legit felt like you knew everyone in the crowd, there to watch your friends put on one hell of a show.

So fun, at times I felt like I was watching them for the first time in one of those small clubs that you use to go to, but in a way have out-grown and a new generation has set up shop.

Operation Fashion Show - Success!

The show I did at the Fool's Gold Event at Sapphire Lounge in NYC ran by S.E.E. Us Events was SO awesome!

The theme was 'Egyptian Pin-up' and feel the collection supported this theme.

I am anxiously awaiting photos and possibly video. Can't wait!

Alesana & Motionless in White and some other band...Plus Interview Link

So Escape the Fate did a headlining tour. Who cares - Alesana and Motionless in White opened!

I made it there JUST in time to see Motionless, however, I had problems getting in, but just as well - what else is new? Haha, so I made it inside to see two songs of theirs. Yay!

They've become a band I use to joke about because their look was so strong, so Hot Topic-core/goth, to a band that's something more. So kudos! I mean, I like the music, the stage show is very interesting and intense, so I'm happy they've been touring so much - though I've been missing the majority of the area shows.

I haven't missed Alesana though. Saw them a bit ago on the Two Frail Weeks of Vanity and Wax, where they were retiring their album of relatively the same name. So I was little upset this time around when none of those songs made it in the setlist - but I was warned!

Decent show overall. I was all the way in the back, so the sound was a little funky because the back bar has a little overhang and the sound echoes weird. But they did songs off The Emptiness basically and it was all dramatic and I love love love "The Thespian."

At least they come dressed to impressed - nice shirts, ties, slacks or jeans and well the drummer had shorts, so casual dressy basically. Love it.

Grunge & Hair Metal...Here's Your Girl

I love Kelly Bundy and am inspired by that look and attitude she had. Christina Applegate is brilliant!

While her wardrobe was incredible when Married...with Children first came on the TV, I'm really drawn to what she was wearing like a year or two into the show. It was right before grunge was full-blown and where hair metal and grunge met for a one-night stand before becoming main stream.

I can't forget Peg Bundy and her outfits in the first two years, but that's another story - where pin-up meets glam metal.

So what's the point of all this?

Barrie Blau - photographer extraordinaire - sent me new images! I sent her clothing and she does what she wants. I don't ask questions.

Is it me or is there a little Madonna a la the "Like a Prayer" era being channelled?

I'm getting sick of girls - you all suck and I'm going to start focusing on menswear. Haha! just kidding, but honestly, I would kill to make a tailored suit properly.

I was checking out Balmain's Spring RTW2011 collection of GLORIOUS women's pieces...there's a menswear for Fall!

OMG! I wish I were a dude. No, I wish I had a super skinny dude to dress up like this.

It's perfectly punk rock, but with a hipster/scenester twist. So posh and still, using this model, seems so street.

Just drool...I really do want to start working on a menswear line (and we're not talking tshirts)

Broken Inside Music Video

Yay! Finally! Kimberly Korn's music video for her single, "Broken Inside," got uploaded to Youtube.

The video had been done...back in September I think it was and I've been so anxious to see! I missed out on the release party a couple weeks ago, so I was even more in the dark than all the other talented people involved with the making of the video.

Take a look! It's so fun! It was also like a reunion because Kimberly and the other designer on set, Alina Butnaru, and I were all involved in the Sugar n' Spikes Runway & Music event over the summer. Fun times.

My pieces are...the white shrug, pink tutu on Kimberly. All the black & red outfits for the female dancers in the end scenes outside.

Watch the end free-style dance scenes. The dancers are super talented and were still able to pull out those moves after two long ass days of shooting.

Can you believe these were from the summer?

So, it was this epic shoot with models Chloe Von Creepy & Trailer Darling and hair/make-up by Nicole Gevirtz and of course, clothing by me. I was stoked. Then GWAR's Jizmak Da Gusha and his 'slave' were to join us for some shots.

CRAZY!

The clothing I was so stoked on and the girls looked amazing in whatever I threw at them. Then we shot on location at this cool house, which was being all renovated (in a Creepy way).

We first shot outside and then it became madness! We got one look down, then the second, then the guest models landed in on set and maybe they brought the storm...

It was like perfect timing when the storm set in. That day, you saw the clouds rolling in and it was like just as the last photo snapped, the winds kicked in, the apples from the trees were like hurled to the ground and we rushed to get everything inside.

Once inside, we shared amazing food, stories and got two more looks shot.

Great day...just sucks these images didn't surface until now. Oh wells. ENJOY!

OMG! Shoes!

So I was lusting over these shoes by Miu Miu and I was trying to find them online, but failed. I did however, come across these beauties under the Alexander McQueen line.

Heart-shaped peep toe shoes? Whoa! Though they look a little more like apples.

Well. My idea - because I don't have $700 at the moment - What if you were to get a pair of the hooker shoes at one of those cheap shoe stores and exacto knife 'em? I see so many DIY-ers out there doing stuff like this, so now it's my turn. Well, as soon as I get a pair of shoes to cut up.

The Start...

By the end of this month, the website WILL BE done! I had such a great talent create it and I'm in the process of finishing it out. Yay!

So it's also off to work on the current collection. It will be late winter/early spring. I'm hoping to create collections for the season and also between seasons. Yea, I'm so creative, haha.

But I'm also going to create pretties for you to wear that are easier and more comfy to throw on than let's say a spandex bodysuit. So get ready!

To start it off - here's what I'm inspired by. I had been going in one direction, but this one dress snuck into my head and then I had this lightbulb go off in my head.

Here's the ultimate inspiration for what I'm doing now. I could only DREAM about creating something as big, intricate and amazing as Alexander McQueen or John Galliano (for Dior), but I don't have the fund nor the space in my work studio!

I'm starting on my Spring Collection. I'm going to be updating here with sneak peeks and a couple thoughts on what's inspiring me. I already have things in mind and planning on something big to show off the new things.

Today I'm meeting up with one of my friends (and model). Yay! I know I had said I wasn't doing any shoots until March, but I make exception for her.

I was supposed to have an interview yesterday, but things got lost in translation, so let's hope it's not difficult to reschedule. I'll be screwed if they give me grief.

Have you seen the video "Beautiful Dangerous" by Slash ft. Fergie? Whoa! I love it because I'm such a stalker sometimes like Fergie is in this and her outfits are crazy friggin' awesome. I wish I had that aesthetic to create pieces like that.

Again Reagan?

I had the pleasure of shooting with photographer Reagan Lam and model Rachel Jean and Glamdoll Make Up Artistry.

Reagan always blows me away and I've only worked with him one other time - he was the first to shoot a guy's outfit I made. Go Reagan!

Rachel Jean I hadn't worked with yet or even talked much with prior to this shoot, so I was flattered she asked me to this shoot.

We started in the ghetto, but then moved location thanks to the sun now setting so friggin' early in the day. But I didn't care - look who was shooting, what could go wrong?

Nothing!

Do I even have to explain how I adore In This Moment?

OK, so I'm behind on listening to their new album, but great sound, meaningful lyrics and a front woman who is girly as anything, but still can kick your ass.

We rushed over to Santos Party House down town somewhere, haha, and according the online set times, were only going to catch like ten minutes of ITM.

Nope! Something went wrong with scheduling and stages, so...my friend (who I dragged to this and probably hated me after) and I walked in an opener, but ITM was next. Interesting old school metal - don't know the opener's name.

It was just this perfect scene: you walk in from the cold hallway and are hit with the smell of weed and alcohol lingering above the packed floor of fans head to toe in black attire. The lights create a haze above the drunk floor and ITM sets up shop with a microphone stand covered in skulls that stands on a raised platform for singer Maria Brink to stand upon.

The sound overall was a bit scratchy to hear, but it was full speed ahead once started with new material at the ready. They pulled out "Forever" and "Beautiful Tragedy" and I was happy. Am really stoked to get the new album - sounds a lot harder than their previous - sucked I couldn't get to the merch stands to pick it up.

I promised my friend to leave early, but next thing, there were two songs left and I said, let's hear what the last will be. Well, it was 'THE' song I wanted to hear and we stayed. "Daddy's Falling Angel"

OMG! I couldn't go to their show the night before Thanksgiving at Starland, so I figured I would try to get in to the Philly show.

The damn show sold out and I took the chance that my request went through for tickets being I didn't get confirmation (but I was pretty confident it was all good). But we make the trip and firgured if we couldn't get into that show, we would go across town and see Foxxy Shazam!

So it was a win-win situation if you ask me.

But...I walk up, give my ID and low and behold - two tickets are mine!

I made the mistake of not asking for set times, b/c my friend and I got stuck watching ALL the bands on the bill. Late show.

Balance and Composure was good, but I really wish I could have done without Title Fight and then Bayside. I was never into Bayside - even with a Weezer cover, meh.

Senses Fail was amazing. It's been awhile and I was loving all the older songs i.e. those off Let It Enfold You. I haven't listened to that album in forever. And they mainly stuck with older tunes, only a couple off the new album. They did do "Lifeboats" - my favorite.

The music sounded perfect and their singer was insane - drunk? who cares - Stellar performance, running around, doing acrobats and improvising when microphone dropped and seeing if he could sing in a handstand.

Left before the last song - don't know what that was or if there was an encore. But I was happy.

It was weird b/c it said you can 'download and uncensored version' and I'm like - huh? Yea, you want to see this dumb broad's boobies, I guess that's what it means. There was no reason for her to be naked. Sorry "model" chick, you got screwed into being a piece of meat.

Anyways! Song sounds like a FFTL wannabe song. Eh. I want to hear more though...

I loves him mucho - this song GROWS ON YOU like whoa. I kept saying that was Lil' Jon, but haha, I forgot about T-Pain.

So I gave you 'blah' and now I give you 'yes!' PS - Kesha's new video for "We R Who We R" is GREAT! The make up and hair is RIDICULOUS and I'm trying to work it in a shoot; HOWEVER, there's advertising that sickens me, so I'm not posting it here. Yep.

Good show, good music, just goodness.

Polar Bear Club - Just another band I've heard so many good things about, but never checked out. They do live up to the hype and was completely into their set.

Emarosa - We all know my Emarosa/Jonny Craig's voice obsession, so they do no wrong. Except playing only like 5 songs! What the hell? They did play the last song off the new album and of course "Set It Off Like Napalm," but I'm still mad at whoever gave them a short amount of time to play.

August Burns Red - I saw these guys ages ago and remembered they were good. But dude. This confirmed their live performances are great. Band members working the stage, a frontman who connected so well with the crowd and then stellar guitarwork. But the strobe lights gave my sister and I headaches.

So we left before Bring Me the Horizon, though we weren't going to stay anyways, but I heard the crowd went bananas for these guys.

Good job AP Tour organizers - I thought the line-up was pretty damn nice.

OMG OMG OMG! DIES...

OK, so I'm weird and haven't posted anything on this or yea. But let it be known Raquel Reed is my favorite alternative model and I would die to work with her.

Well guess what if you didn't know - that statement up there is so past tense. Because I finally did get the chance to work with her and I'm still so stoked about it.

My photographer, Barrie Blau was shooting with Raquel for a feature in Alt Noir Magazine and by luck, I was asked to bring some wardrobe.

We ended up shooting a couple looks - Barrie is an amazing photographer and Raquel is always perfection, so hello. It was magic and I was just on set, standing around like a dork because designers on set are either 1. Diva bitches who try to take total control or 2. Silent stalkers ready to help if you call them over.

I was the second (well that better be how I was).

I'll post pictures later - check my Facebook for them all!

But here's an even bigger treat...Raquel shot a video with Jeffree Star (who I adore) and it was filmed by this sick as hell artist Worm Carnevale. Seriously, those three together...it's like the holy trinity or something.

Oh yea, why am I bringing this up? Guess who made the dress Raquel is in? Yea, that would be me. DUDE!

I missed them at Warped Tour this year! But...got to stalk them when they played at School of Rock. woo!

They played mainly the older stuff. So being lazy, I'm not going to go and look to see if they were touring only on older material. But I know I'm right and they did just release a new album like earlier this year.

Ok, anyways.

I was happy because I knew most of the songs and it was the same ol'show I expected and find entertaining. Frontman Dennis rolling around, screaming his head off and the crowd loving it. Then singer Shawn singing like a diva. And we can't forget typical faux-core/screamo stage moves with pre-crabcore unison dancing. I guess that's a good way of saying it.

But I will give it to them that the music sounded just as it does on their records (or they were pulling an Ashley Simpson) and the response from the crowd was just love.

However! "Seduction" was not played - unacceptable.

Fun times and I didn't steal their drummer, so I am free to attend future shows.

What's this? They're touring in the early Spring with Motionless in White? Count me in!

Quickie Update

My schedule is BOOKED! It's like one thing after another...and this is nothing compared to what things hopefully one day will be.

Two articles due tomorrow. Then we move on to find story ideas. Shoot Sunday.

But most importantly - my one sister is in town for the weekend with her darling little girls (got to see another sister and her darlings last weekend - it's a tri-state thing). Then there's a most important hang out with friends hopefully going down.

Did I mention having to make one or two things for the shoot? Shh! Don't tell Miss Barrie Blau or Kami!

News to post, but I'll do it tomorrow or Saturday.

I don't know excatly how you write the 'duh duh duh da' part, so hum it to yourself.

I totally am out of the loop! Or I just forget really easily. A Day to Remember has a new album coming out soon? Shut up! I probably could get an advance or unfortunately find it downloadable somewhere. But I'll wait till my sister buys her copy or they post it on Myspace to hear it.

They also did this series to go alongside the upcoming album "What Seperates Me From You." So I guess you buy the new album and you get the final episode of the series - bands are getting smarter with getting you to buy their albums. Good! I just bought two new CDs yesterday.

Need to get back into beefing up my vinyl collection though.

Caught The Summer Set last week. Saw them on Warped this year and it was cute, good times. Plus, I got to be an honorary mom again. Cute show, especially at the end when they had everyone (well the majority of the crowd) sit and have an acoustic sing-a-long.

Finally got to listen to the new Senses Fail album, The Fire.

It's OK. It did take me a bit to really get into the last album and The Fire feels like a great continuation of the previous. I was interested to hear any differences in the sound because guitarist Heath left - I'm assuming it was before the record got started.

Not too much seems different, but I only listened to the album twice and via Myspace. Really feeling "Lifeboats."

Then I find on PunkNews this video. It's my boyfriend...I mean the it's the singer of Senses Faill talking about pop-rock boy bands and it's pretty interesting. (note me being funny)

I mean, you can say that lyrically, Senses Fail provides deeper topics, with real problems and I can say that I'm defintely one of the fans that connect with A LOT of the songs and yea, they've helped me through tough times.

Whereas bands like All Time Low, what really is the meaning in their songs? Most people do agree it's music you can just write off as pop-rock that'll just fade. But I also would beg to differ that NSync was meaningless bubblegum pop, BUT it also had the power to make a difference. I listened to that music during hard times and while the lyrics kind of mean nothing, it was music to get me away.

So yea. Even when music sucks, it still can make a difference.

On a side note - LA Ink is over for the season. I really think Jesse James and Kat should have been smart and not had him go to her gallery opening. She seemed so pissed over the press asking her questions about him - well duh! He's right there. If he really cared, he would have said like 'It's your night, I want to be there, but with what is going on with me, I don't want to bring negative attention.'

Or go through the back door!

Jeffree Star looked fabulous! Really sucks his New Jersey tour date was cancelled. I think I know why - boooo....

November is booked with concerts, shoots, store re-launching, family & friend going-ons and just the everyday randomness.

Randomness from yesterday involved watching a bunch of bands walking around and making teenage girls freak out.

I did however make one Halloween costume that I wore yesterday, however...everyone said I looked normal. Well, normal for me that is. Guess I didn't try hard enough.

Halloween is in two days! Tomorrow is the big night for going out. I'm starting out at an insane asylum and then headed out to the pier. Seriously, that's my night. Hopefully we'll make it home in one piece.

Had a shoot over this weekend. It was kind of last minute, but everything came together in the end and the two 'quick edit' photos I've gotten are crazy awesome.

My main model Megan was on set (and she even beat me to the studio!) and we had Cassie of CT Make Up Artistry doing hair & make up.

A second model for the day didn't happen, but we turned someone else on set into a punk rock superhero - those pictures will happen later.

Last minute, I was whisked away somewhere close to the city for I didn't know exactly what.

My friend's friend's brother played a cute set with his band I Am Fighting.

It was an acoustic set, so you got this wholesome, prettyboy pop-rock going on. Also because of this, the attendee up-front and dead center was their drummer, who couldn't play that night...

They were one of the bands that played that night for the grand opening of this new coffee cafe/scene gathering place that opened in Lyndhurst (New Jersey if you didn't know). I have to go back and check it out again because the one girl with us went to order coffee and all they had was straight up coffee and tea - I really wanted a latte or something.

But as I was looking around at the framed show posters...I put two and two together. This venue is from the same people of Mainstage, which was out in Pompton Lakes - they did a lot more, but I'm not the official biographer.

Getting ready for Halloween weekend next week - I didn't this year for my birthday have a marathon celebration, so I think I'm turning Halloween into a marathon celebration. I got Saturday down, but what to do Thursday & Friday?

I going to be Kat Von D one of the days! I did my eyes different, so don't think I'm crazy or anything.

I was SO in awe over the artist on LA Ink tonight - the mural he did, OMG! It was just amazing and how perfectly he captured facial expressions was so impressive.

I forget what's on the menu for next week with that show, but I really want Ruthless at the other shop fired. She probably was casted to cause drama and act like a bitch to Amy. Casted just like Aubrey and did anyone else see Angel from Tough Love 2 on the show last week? She's cool though, not Aubrey.

Getting back in the swing of writing - two interviews this week! One was today and the other is Friday. Can't wait for all the shows in November!

I'm not a huge fan of 3OH!3 (especially live), but they're still cool in my book. I caught their new video for "Double Vision" today and LOVED IT!

However.

I am SICK SICK just SICK of advertising in of all places - music videos. I know it's a part of life, but this one company is pissing me off.

First, Lady Gaga's "Telephone" video lingers a bit too long on the security guard searching on a website. The company - plenty of fish dating website.

So here I am, watching this really cleverly done video where you're scrolling down a website and it's really cute how people are seen and move about - seriously, watch it.

BUT! A couple of times, 'plenty of fish.com' is displayed prominently. If I have to see this damn website advertise in videos one more time, I'm going to scream. I had a good friend who met her current beau on that site, but now this site has lost all respect I had for it.

Whatever. I just feels it insults the viewer b/c we're so use to ads in the sidebars of pages and here, we're supposed to just enjoy a visual to a song, but I guess to keep it 'realistic' (though I've never seen a site like that)...they had to ad an advertisement. Thanks.

I Went Where?

Oh yea...I hung out with the cool kids last night at the Suicide Silence / Mychildren Mybride / The Tony Danza Tap Dancing Extravaganza / Molotov Solution show at Starland Ballroom.

There were seven bands on the bill and I knew that 5:30 doors was not going to be early enough - even arriving at 8pm, I walked in with 4 1/2 bands to go and I forgot my earplugs.

It turned out to be a good night though - cool people to hang out with and make fun of the crowd, not a sold out show, but the floor was full and a good amount of people at the back bar.

Molotov Solution was good, though I don't really remember much else about them. I've been dying to see Tony Danza... just b/c the name is rad as hell, but it's definitely 'guy's only' music. Mychildren Mybride REALLY got my attention and hello, their one guitarist was cute and the bassist was Asian (I like them kind of boys).

Seriously though, great performance and the music was a bit more girl-friendly, so I got into it, with those small melodic moments and it wasn't just 'rawr rawr rawr!'

Suicide Silence cracked me up. I love this shit!

After MCMB's set, it was like a mass exodus out the venue, which I thought was strange, but I guess the kiddies needed fresh air, merch or smoke a cig b/c they're 'so cool.' The majority of the kids came back for Suicide, but I was surprised that quite a handful left. Hm.

The singer of Suicide is crazy - it's like his mouth doesn't even move and he's with the pterodactyl screams and then switches to the growling and yea. But I noticed, he had the audience sing a lot - I guess someone can't do both live, haha. I honestly really don't know what was up with that b/c I really don't know their music.

It was an hour set and I was kinda done after half an hour, but I stuck it out and decided upon finding my own super tall, really skinny, covered in tatoos, some-kind-of-core band's screamer to kidnap. Or become friends with, whatever comes first.

Literally the day after I had my car accident at the beginning of the summer, I was going to take almost a two hour drive to be on set and maybe provide some wardrobe for a music video.

I was stoked and looking back, if it wasn't for that, I may still be only driving my car back and forth to the corner store - OK, maybe to work, but that's pushing it.

Anyways...

Unfortunately, my clothing wasn't a good fit in the options pool, but I kinda had that feeling going in. HOWEVER! I caught wind of the video being released and got all gigglely!

Wait for it...at 2:20-ish, the girl bouncing around her room is wearing my tiger & mesh leotard and mini lace tutu. WOOHOO!!!

The director did such a great job with this video - I remember hearing the treatment and being like 'huh?' This came out so cute! Plus, if you look real close in the wizard/Harry Potter vingette, my one model, Megan, is an extra.

I am so loving the concept and how it played out, plus it's a damn catchy, cute song.

Haha, I love that site.

It's just that's one of the sites I scan in preparation for interviews and it's that time again...

So I'm looking up on a band and the comments totally put them down like 'whoa' in regards to the line-up of their current tour. I saw them once or twice and remembered their set won me over and was pretty damn cool.

It was like all the late twenty-somethings on that damn site are complaining about how one of their 'man crush' bands got on the bill and so I FINALLY check out this band they're in love with...Polar Bear Club. Long time coming b/c it's damn good.

But what is it with boys and only liking music where the lead singer sounds like an older dude who's smoked a bunch and comes across as the dude you kick back a few beers with talking about nonsense?

haha - It's music like Against Me!, Hot Water Music, Four Year Strong...oh wait, Against Me! are now 'sell outs' for some reason and I think FYS are appealing too much to the younger crowd, so they suck too. But you get the type of bands I'm talking about.

(For the record...I enjoy any of those bands listed above, but that's basically the shit I read about them).

Back to setting up shoots and researching and I think I'll revisit Street Dogs. I'm a little scared though, going to a Suicide Silence show this weekend - what did I get myself into?

I found this really interesting article about "26 being the new 18" and since I'm sorta, almost, kinda in a few at that age...definitely had to read this.

They presented how it's harder for teens to transition into young adulthood and soon after, become independent adults nowadays due to the economy, parents babying teens even more than with past generations and with insurance being extended to 26 on parents' plans and also with people getting married later.

So here I think, sitting as a college graduate, living back home, shopping for a husband...I mean looking at America's youngest billionaires online (haha) and come across this article.

Really valid point that also relates to something I read a year ago about the 'hipster movement' where those damn hippies live off their 'trust funds/savings' and become 'artists', wearing thrift wears, drinking crappy beer, complaining about not making money, but living in $3000/month apartments with Whole Foods stocked fridges.

Sorry, I hate the hipsters.

But also, we're at a point where this world is so fucked up that a lot of these people grew up, seeing the downward spiral of the economy and you know what? Maybe they realize it's going to suck one way or another, so why settle for some dumbass, boring office job that will support you, but ultimately steal your soul?

Maybe it's time for the 20-somethings to take advantage of that old phrase 'You can be whatever you want to be when you grow up' and that's why during the process and after obtaining a college diploma, we're out to not be a part of corporate America.

And that's cool. I mean, some days I wish I could have a really nice job with the cutest apartment (like my one good friend), but then others I'm caught in this make believe world where we dress up and pretend everday (like Lady Gaga).

However...there's so many independent companies it seems nowadays, which I know some people think it brings people of the scene together, but really it's just us being how we've always been - selfish, in it for ourselves and striving for some larger corporation to buy us out and make a nice profit off it.

Yea. Where the hell did that come from?

Ohhh....Lil' Kim's "Crush On You" video just came on VH1 Soul - that was back in 1997 and I still remember the lyrics and still think it's an awesome video with the all the color vingettes and I still protest - it's BLUE NOT PURPLE!

omg! Now Isis featuring Jada Kiss? Hip hop, R&B, rap and all that good stuff will always have my heart...

Oops! Wrong project involving Jonny Craig.

Let's talk his solo project. Last Sunday, ending two crazy, music-filled weekends, my sister and I checked out Jonny Craig at School of Rock doing what he does best - sing while having throat problems.

His voice is always to die for, but I swear! This boy always has a sore throat or something every time I see him perform.

We thought we were going to just make it for him, but nope. Caught the end of Fight Fair (cute pop-rock who tried being tougher than they were) and also Mod Sun, who has been in other bands (one being Scary Kids Scaring Kids) and came at us with hip hop/techno beats. While I tried so hard not to like this kid, I wound up getting sucked in and if he's ever on another tour, I'll be sure to catch his set.

However, he must has mentioned how Jonny is up next about a hundred times.

Jonny Craig was awesome - it never seems like he is singing b/c it's like he barely opens his mouth and this ferocious sound just come barreling out. Amazing!

And what's this I hear about him singing on the next Dance Gavin Dance album? WHOA!

There's so many more concerts to come for the fall, I'm stoked AND I'm just jumping back in a getting in on interviews. I might be interviewing (again) one of my favorite bands that I did a blah job last time, but here's the chance to redeem myself.

It took me forever to listen to the new single from My Chemical Romance.

I'm a long time fan, blame it on my sister, I'm from Jersey and yea, how could I not be into them?

So I first saw the video with the full song and the lyrics included like a Disney sing a long. Not ammused at all. Really guys? REALLY?! What is this - though I couldn't stop singing it for like the rest of the night.

Now I finally see the short video/ad for the upcoming album with this song as the background.

I'm still not gaga for the song, but speaking of...this clip is like My Chem in the "Telephone" Lady Gaga video. Ugh! Not them too!?

But I like the clothing, unfortunately it's going to be another concept album and not something more like their orginal stuff, so we'll see. And hey, Mikey and Frank are still cutie patooties. haha!

Last night I had a dream that combined my day job and high school into one big maze and then I started speaking Spanish and French - what was going on there?!

That's what you get for sleeping for 12 hours.

This weekend I provided half of the wardrobe for a music video. So cool and I might be able to post behind the scenes photos soon.

I'm getting ready to get items listed in my Etsy - it's just such a daunting task b/c I have SO many things accumulating in my stock over the past year and I just want to get rid of them - I might do like a 'Buy one, Get one half off' or something.

I'm also looking forward to the CMJ Music Marathon this year. I'll probably be heading out to a few shows. It's just driving me crazy b/c I want the schedule to be announced NOW! I work till 9pm during the week and so it's hard to make shows when the headliners usually go on at that time. I like the CMJ Marathon b/c a lot of the shows are late - but now who will go with me?

SO many shows coming up and I'm actually more excited to hopefully get out and start shooting again - I miss editing photos actually.

Here's another image from Reflections. It was the last look and my collection was of freak show acts. This was supposed to be like 'P.T. Barnum and his Fiji Mermaid.' I wish I had done a bit more, but hell! That blazer took A LOT of effort and the dress kills.

I just dominated a whole tray of mini Cinnabon poppers that you get from like Costco and heat up and there's ten mini morsels of Cinnabon fixes. Not exactly like what you get at the mall, but yummy. So happy before watching Hoarding: Buried Alive.

Really cool shoot this weekend! I'm too sure how much I'm to talk about it...

But while fashion life has calmed down and I can FINALLY get things listed for purchase, day job life is hectic and sometimes annoying. In a month I'll be complaining how boring it is.

Here's shots from the second issue of Harlow Magazine with Sharon TK on the cover - my god, doesn't even look like her! That girl is awesome as hell. Cute magazine too!

I submitted things for review and was stoked when I open the magazine and see Audrey Kitching wearing something of mine. Woo! I thought they were going to have other models, but cool - Audrey and the mag's editor wearing my stuff.

They said the fit didn't work, but if that's the only con, can't complain - b/c I mean hey, those things I sent fit me and I'm 5'9, 135lbs. They are 5'4 and super tiny.

But...notice how my label name is spelled wrong with the CORRECT spelling RIGHT below it in the website address? So many people are doing this to me lately and I think I'm going to start being a diva about it.

OK! My collection shown at Reflections was inspired by sideshow and circus acts. Each look was a particular character and my interpretation of them. Check out the photos below.

I'm going around stealing photos and waiting for more - I really wish I had enlisted my one friend to take photos with my camera. Oh wells...

SO much happened at Reflections 2010, held at Polaris nightclub in Philadelphia. It's crazy how you go in, thinking there's like 8 hours till your show takes the stage and you can kick back and slowly get things together and then it's like BAM! 30 minutes before the models take the stage.

Got there after lunchtime, went and got food, started setting up then it was like - hurdles popped up, got caught in conversations, went back and forth with what outfit each model should wear...that my friend is how 2pm quickly becomes 8pm.

It was cool because there was artwork being displayed and me and the main woman behind the event, Rebecca Marchand, are big AFI freaks and there was AFI-related pieces that put a smile on my face.

This is Part 1 of the my Reflections experience and I guess, I'm going to start with the end result - it was awesome! If you missed it, you suck.

I did leave around midnight, which is when the real fun began, but a 2 hour drive back home was not something I wanted to tackle at 2am on 5 hours of sleep.

I'll end with images. So far it's all I've found and are super awesome. This photographer shot Reflections last year and his images were my favorite of the bunch and this year was no different.

Yea, so it may have been back in August, but hell! I wanna talk about it.

August 21st at Santos Party House in NYC for bands, fashion and one drunk birthday dude.

My sister and I get stuck in Chinatown trying to get there b/c there was the one festival that weekend in Little Italy and they had a street blocked off - some crazy guy was the 'traffic director,' which meant no cops were around and so he just yelled at us if we didn't move fast enough.

We made perfect timing though - things were running a little behind and thank god too, b/c the music was SO loud between sets, we went downstairs to escape it between acts.

We walked in on the one band playing, London from Daisy of Love is in it - don't know, wasn't too impressed.

One of the best parts of the night was the crazy man of honor, Samuel Valentine, who was happy and drunk as it was his birthday. That plus his accent made his introductions of people quite entertaining.

Like I said - perfect timing. Toxic Vision showed her fall collection 'Widowmaker' and it was bananas. I wish I had the body (and monies) to buy some stuff. From highly embellished bustiers, to monster fur sleeves to her standard spandex pants, I was so enjoying everything.

Just about a week away is the Reflections Art & Fashion event. SOOOOOO much stuff I need to get together - I feel really behind this summer, but it was kinda a stressful/depressing summer.

Rock n' Roll Fashion Show

Ok, so about two weeks ago...

I was SO grateful to be asked again by the ladies of Sugar n' Spikes to participate in their second fashion show event. Bands of the night were TSI, Panzie & Hate in the Box (whose lead singer, Rainbow Blight, is the sweetest!).

My collection went first, followed by the debut of Alina Butnaru's intimate apparel awesomeness (have to find her link, b/c she was so cool) and then last was Natasha NYC (NatashaNYC.com - and dude! If I had known better, I would have been freaking out being in her presence, but of course I'm dumb sometimes)

I'm going INSANE!

Two days to finish up everything and I'm SO behind. On top on all of this, my mom springs on me that tomorrow I have to take her and a friend into the city because we're going to be in the Dr. Oz audience, that's out of left field.

So excited for this - come out and join us - I heard there's free liquor being served from 8pm - 9pm (which is probably when I'm on or right before).

It's less than a week before the group show I'm in organized by Sugar & Spikes, being held at Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, NY, August 19th - OMG!

I had been hearing about 'Bordello Shoes' a lot more recently, first by one model I worked with, T.C., and then again at the shoot I was apart of the end of July. I never looked for them until T.C. had a photo on the Facebook.

Thrash and Burn! Or not...

Yay! So my sister and I took the day and attended the Thrash and Burn Tour at The Stone Pony in good ol'Asbury Park.

We were mainly drawn by Greeley Estates and the added bonus of checking out some other interesting bands.

WRONG!

Greeley had RV problems or something, so they weren't there along with I think two other bands - definitely Chelsea Grin wasn't there due to one member having health issues. So bummed.

But even with us getting there like two hours after doors, though mind you it was a long show day to fit all the bands, Motionless in White just started playing, so I was happy. Those boys are styled perfectly and no matter what's up with the lead singer, he's my new darling that I want to steal - kinda like my thing with Davey Havok.

They keep sounding better and better everytime I see them, so rock on.

I didn't really keep track of the bands that played on the outside stage - sorry about that to those bands - but it was like endless screaming, heavy riffs and breakdowns, except for the more 'punk rock' group that went on.

My sister was all about checking out Evergreen Terrace and they really held their own. They've been around for awhile - it's hard to realize that bands that started in like 2000 or a little after are now ten years going.

They put on a good stage show and security really loved their singer Jesus-walking in the crowd.

Impending Doom was 'rawr rawr' vocals, but they were endearing and thanked the crowd at the end very nicely. I didn't want to like them, but I did.

I lost interest in Stick to Your Guns even though they were like one of the biggies on the tour. I took a breather and awaited Kittie.

The ladies of Kittie had a REALLY tough time impressing the crowd. There was a group of die-hard fans up front, but I was pissed off at some of the comments made around me during their set.

Their stage presense wasn't spectacular, but the music was tight, though vocals could have been turned up.

And there you had my day - I left before Asking Alexandria and Born of Osiris. But I'm old and my back hurt and I was starving. Maybe next time.

Interpol, I love thee...

Ok, so that photo looks old, but it's the first I grabbed and one of the members, Carlos, has left...so...but they're still so friggin adorable - please excuse the teeny-bopperness.

Spent the weekend down in Atlantic City. My two friends and I went down to see Interpol and I had a grand idea of staying over to see the band, gamble and drink without having to worry about driving home. Perfect.

Awesome dinner at the fondue place, then it was about a mile walk, through the 'shady' parts of AC, to the House of Blues.

It was such a great, fantastic & splendid show. Really, the music was just SO good live and I knew every song...fun times.

For some reason it wasn't packed, so we got real close to the stage and just hipster-danced around with the rest of the crowd. Lead singer, Paul, is really charming though he doesn't say much. And guitarist Daniel is like (and this is the weirdest analogy ever), but like Woody from Toy Story. While playing, he would move about with a hop, skip and jump from one side to the next in this cool, marionette meets rock star vibe.

Funny enough, after the show, my friends and I took a turn at the roulette wheel and the guitarist was down and about - he's a tiny thing - but I was scared to complement him on the show. It's always weird when band members are with friends, family or girlfriends/boyfriends, I feel approaching them is bothersome. Oh wells.

We were hoping the singer would be down, but alas, he was not. Some of the opening bands' members were playing some and one of them played at our table - silly, cute hipsters.

Now to plan my next trip down there...

Back in the swing of making things hardcore. Excited though, a lot of these pieces are killer.

Anyone else think that the McKell chick shouldn't have been thrown off?

I thought her dress was cute - I don't see a photo up on the website yet of it - but there were like three other people who should have gone home before her.

So a little letter to why I feel this girl was sent home:

Dear Heidi Klum,

You are Heidi Klum, super model & Victoria Secret model. You were, are and always will be that and gorgeous. But unfortunately you feel the need to eliminate every remotely pretty girl from your show. I still am not over how you threw off Alison from season something beause her outfit made her model look like a 'fat minnie mouse' when obviously it should have been the retard-o older guy thrown off. It only just goes to show no matter how beautiful and successful you are, people can still be insecure to hate on pretty girls. Plus, just because you've been a model for your whole life, doesn't mean you undertand design.

Now it's on to watching the replay of Jersey Shore. I'm laughing my ass off! It's sad to see people act are retarded as you know they do, but I watch and thus, it will live on.

I'm a real Jersey girl - I still don't get how people who don't even live in New Jersey (I think one or two of them do) are like my state's representatives.

And the Anglina chick...why would MTV resign her? I mean she walked out on the first season and her punishment should be her regret of not sticking with it - sad she wants back AFTER the success of the first season. And did she bang Pauly D? Is that what he said?

I need my own reality show or something.

Today I went to the most-mega Wholefoods ever. Like there's no pre-packaged food (ok there is, but it's like hard to find and just in the one section between the household cleaners and beauty products). But serioulsy, the amount of hot food, fresh produce and liquor...whoa.

They seriously had more beer than the wine store I go to. I wanted to build a fort in the wine section and hide there and then eat all the prepared foods and raspberries while no one was there.

I made it out and just wished they had Jamba Juice - they had everything else.

Two fashion shows! Yea, I'm insane.

I had a bit of a rude awakening I guess you can say this past week. It made me think about what I want to do in life and where I want to go and I'm pretty damn sure I blew an amazing chance at a job that would benefit my time management with sewing (allowing me to keep and maintain it as my artistic outlet) and thus having a real job that like would be awesome.

Live and learn I guess - maybe I have to keep reminding myself maybe it was for the best?

Who knows. I'm just excited to have things focused on the shows now. LOTS of work.

The work week begins again - two part-time jobs - crazy! Things never slow down.

Just a random thought of the day.

My birthday is tomorrow and the age I'm turning, the number has always followed me around, so I took this year to be the one that things happen. So far, this summer has sucked and been really sad - from my car accident to loosing so many people around me.

But I can honestly now say that things are looking up. Maybe I was right and we had to experience all the hardships to get to this point. Wish they didn't happen, but we take everything all with us and look to the future.

Warped Tour! Dude!

My sister and I conquered Warped Tour yesterday in Camden. It was awesome - really REALLY hot, but awesome.

Yes, we got there late - I came from North Jersey, so...

We missed Alesana, I See Stars and Enter Shikari, but we've seen them before and we'll see them again - would have been fun though.

I was lucky and had a photo pass for the day, but kept missing that timeframe of 'the first three songs' to jump in the pit and my camera isn't sweet enough to really capture everything from in the crowd. I got some cool shots though, just gotta edit.

To start we saw Four Year Strong, who had some technical difficulties, but it worked out and then we headed over for Mike Posner. He's fun and later when he was signing at his booth, I joked this is the closest I'll get to Justin Timberlake. So cute.

The day was spent mostly just walking around chilling. Emarosa was AMAZING! They only played like five songs, so it felt super short, but so good.

All the bands like Motion City Soundtrack, We the Kings and Summer Set were all cute, Warped standards that were fun, but I think I'm a bit too old to really enjoy, haha.

Riverboat Gamblers and The Casualties were great. Seriously, just great and made Warped. Especially Riverboat Gamblers, who I haven't seen in years - just, what Warped SHOULD be.

Ended on In Fear and Faith, who got better since last I saw them and older...haha, I thought they were teens last year when we saw them, but nope. They are older. Last was Sum 41, who were so 'meh.' The singer had people come up on stage halfway through the first song, so I was like 'fuck this...' and left the photo pit. Oh wells.

Funny - we get screwed over in leaving the parking lot and had to sit and wait for about 30 minutes. Who walks by to get to their bus? Sum 41. Apparently the singer is now dating one of the scene queens who bounces from band member to the next. Can't hate, I would love to do that too, but you know she does it to 'further' her 'career.' umm...yea.

People this year were pretty cool. There weren't any like really rad, showman performers, but good music. Pretty sure we were listening to Flatfoot 56 while waiting for traffic to move - they were good.

I'm going to in addition to some photos, I always love the bands that walk around and ask you to listen to their cd players. I don't, b/c those earphone creep me out. But I took a few fliers and there's a few bands I didn't mention above or I missed and wanted to check out that I'm going to like 'review' in the upcoming weeks. Check it!

Super excited b/c looks like I'll be getting a photo pass for Warped Tour - yes! I did Mayhem Festival last year, but I've never took photos at Warped or even paid attention to photographers, so I'm a bit nervous as how it'll go.

I sent her a box of goodies and then she surprises me with a stunning shot of Jordan Supernavage, who has like no make up on and is freakin' stunning as hell in one a black faux snakeskin Minxy dress. WHOA!

So yea, back to work I go. I really need to do a video blog.

It's still awkward driving my new car, but got to drive down to Philly-ish area this weekend, so I guess that'll break it in.

This is How I Holiday...

I sew and work around the house. Today is the 4th of July and while most people are out with friends or at family barbeques, or whatever...I love holidays because I usually never have to work and thus, I get to sew and feel totally stress free over it.

That said - the pressure is on for the upcoming fashion shows and quite an epic shoot at the end of the month. I can't say much about that shoot, but OMG, I'm DYING!!! It's going to be so cool.

So, today, our cat - Miss Kitty - killed/found her first mouse. When my mom spotted it, she had no idea what she was picking up (with a paper towel) and I instantly saw the head, legs, tail and said it was a mouse and my mom almost dropped it - she freaked. Kinda funny

Bought my car and getting everything finalized Monday/Tuesday. Not too stoked on it, still REALLY want the Charger, but I guess I'll live. I just keep reminding myself of all the money I'm saving. hmph.

Still without a car, but soon I'll have a new one.

I swear, I sometimes think my life is either really really cool & fun or just really stressful & upsetting.

Part time job land is being shaken up and making me all nervous. It's sad that I can be so scared of loosing a job that's easily replaceable...well, not really b/c no one is hiring. Ugh!

Anyways...

Interview next week, pretty cool. I'm pissy b/c I would JUST DIE to be like a VJ/some type of host on like Fuse. I mean, hell, I'm watching the Warped Wednesday and that Alison chick is interviewing people. She is Fuse's second host named Alison. I do music journalism, my name is Alison, people love me and I'm adorable - someone hook me up!
